From the Main Menu, you can access any part of the program quickly and
can easily manage all aspects of your job search. The Main Menu is divided
by three tabs: Resumes & Letters, Interview & Salary, and Job
Search Tools. On each tab you will find sections to assist you in your
job search along with expert advice videos and tips.
Resumes & Letters
Resumes
In the Resumes section you can select from three options: Start New
Resume, Edit/View My Resumes, or View Sample Resumes.
Start New Resumes takes you through a step-by-step process for creating
your resume. You can either use the step-by-step resume wizard or clone a Sample Resume to create your resume.
The step-by-step resume wizard prompts you to enter the information you need to
build a professional resume. You can select the resume sections you want to include and either write your own information or pick from hundreds of thousands of pre-written resume phrases. You can also find Words and Phrases to use and click the Expert Advice for each resume section to see what professional resume writers recommend. When you are finished, your resume will be formatted and completed for you.
Edit/View Resumes allows you to view and modify existing resumes that
you have created.
Use the Personal Information section to include your professional and personal social media URLs in your resume. The wizard will walk you through choosing a Resume Type and styles for your resume.

Cover Letters
In the Cover Letters section you can select from three options: Start
New Letter, Edit/View My Letters, or View Sample Letters.
Start New Letters takes you through a step-by-step process for creating
your letter. Each section of the letter, such as the Heading, the Greeting,
and the Conclusion, has a designated screen that provides pre-written,
professional language. When you are finished, your letter will be formatted
and completed for you.
Edit/View Letters allows you to view and modify existing letters that
you have created.
View Sample Letters by situation to help
you in writing a letter that presents you in the best possible light.
Interview & Salary
Virtual Interview
View sample interviews and find out how to respond to over 500 job interview
questions. You’ll
learn all of this and more through videos, narration, and helpful on-screen
interactions.
Salary Tools
The Salary Tools section provides you with links to research salary
ranges based on job title and geographic location. Salary Calculator can show
you how much your peers are making or what a career change could mean
to your paycheck.
Job Search Tools
Job Finder
Job Finder helps you search for a job through every major job listing
site on the Internet. ResumeMaker connects your computer to the World
Wide Web and allows you to search millions of job openings and locate
businesses within specific industries. You can easily search online by
keywords or phrases for specific types of jobs. The Job Finder allows you to search various web pages for available jobs. It sits on
your desktop and notifies you whenever a new job is posted online. The
Settings dialog box allows you to specify what jobs to search for, as
well as location and distance.
Career Tools
The Career Tools section allows you to search 20 million companies by
industry with tools for Networking with Business Professionals and contains
information on applying for and getting jobs in the Federal Government.
This section includes instructions on the outlook for federal employment,
filling out federal forms, how to conduct a federal job search, and how
to write a federal resume.
Expert Advice
In addition, each tab contains links to Expert Video Advice, Tips and
Insider Advice
Expert Advice offers advice on writing your resumes and cover letters,
planning your career, preparing for an interview, managing your job search,
and negotiating your salary. Expert advice also includes a selection of
video and
audio clips from career counselors and experts.
In addition, there are four links in the upper section of the Main Menu:

Profile & Settings, Contact Us, and Help.
Log Out/In
To sign in you must first establish an account. Enter your email address
into the appropriate field (Example: jdoe@hotmail.com) and enter your
password associated with this account.
Contact Us
Contact Us provides a link to all essential contact information. If
you have questions, comments, or suggestions, we encourage you to contact
us or send an e-mail at any time.
My Profile & Settings
Your personal information, preferences, and e-mail settings are securely
kept in this location.
Help
Help opens the online Help system in a separate window so that you can
view Help topics while continuing to view your resume.
